Implementing a Better Message Box

screenshot-5

The standard status message box that is used to present all of the success messages and error reports as a result of admin settings changes is decent but it could stand some improvements. However, I wanted to make them within the context of standard message boxes, using the same elements and attributes.

There are two things I wanted to change about the standard message box:

  1. First off, I wanted some way to get rid of the thing, especially some way that didn’t involve refreshing the page. For most purposes, once the message is delivered, it no longer needs to occupy space on the web page.
  2. Secondly, I wanted to have something a little more visual such as a icon to denote the status of the message being reported: success, error or warning.
