Character Development

Level 2 (Warlock 2)

If Precious pleases her Patron by surviving to second level, she will be rewarded with another spell, comprehend languages, and two Eldritch Invocations, Eldritch Sight (detect magic at will) and Mask of Many Faces (disguise self at will).

Level 3 (Warlock 3)

Precious is awarded her Pact Boon, Pact of the Tome. The three cantrips written within it are dancing lights, mage hand and minor illusion. She is also awarded her first second level spell, enthrall. As a tiefling, she may also cast hellish rebuke once per day.

Level 4 (Warlock 3 / Rogue 1)

In a rare show of independence, and through the association with a rather fetching con artist, swindler and Rogue, Precious multi-classes as a Rogue herself and participates in a series of cunning con artistries and escapades with her associate. This grants her the skill proficiency Persuasion and the kit proficiency Thieve’s Tools, as well as learning the Rogue features Expertise, Sneak Attack and Thieve’s Cant. She applies her Expertise to Deception and Persuasion. Her Patron is amused with her cheek and her intelligence and approves, especially when Precious eventually ends her association with the Rogue on her own terms, and walks away with most of the Rogue’s gold, too.

Level 5 (Warlock 4 / Rogue 1)

Precious’ flirtation with (and with being) a Rogue was only a passing fancy, and her Patron rewards her renewed interest (and for being more interesting and potentially unique now) with another cantrip, friends, and another spell, suggestion. As a tiefling, she may also cast darkness once per day. In addition, Precious’ varied experience at charming and persuading and deceiving others improved her own natural Charisma to 20.

Level 6 (Warlock 5 / Rogue 1)

Precious is now becoming even more interesting for her Patron, and she is rewarded with the Eldrich Invocation Tome of Ancient Secrets: now written within her Tome are the ritual spells identify and unseen servant. Precious is also granted her first third level spell, hypnotic pattern. Her existing spell comprehend languages is replaced with tongues.

Level 7 (Warlock 6 / Rogue 1)

Because Precious is now becoming a favorite pet of her Patron, her Patron is becoming more protective of her. Therefore, her Patron blessed Precious with the Misty Escape Pact ability. She is also granted another spell, the second level spell hold person. Also, Precious wrote the ritual spell augury into her Pact Tome.

Precious is granted her first fourth level spell, dominate beast, and another Invocation, Misty Images. Through a trade of favors, she is able to inscribe leomund’s tiny hut as a ritual into her Tome.
