A Character In Search of a Story

I created a lot of roleplaying characters and story characters, based on a lot of different sources, but I’ve never created one based on a dress before.

Until now.

A friend of mine posted a link to this dress (left) she found online and the first thing I thought of was that it was something that a sorceress or a ranger would wear. Considering the matter of the former, soon a character was bubbling up from my subconscious, talking about the dress she wore and soon everything else about her. Someone mysterious and slightly mystical, who uses that sense of mystical mystery to further her magical and mundane abilities. An enchantress, naturally, someone who cultivates that mystery as well as her natural beauty to enhance her spellcasting, and uses her spellcasting to further her own passions and pursuits. She sounds like someone that I want to know further, and that will only happen by imagining and writing her exploits.

I have a name for her: she says her name is Alluriel. Its the name she chose when the entered the magical order that recruited her as a pre-teen. It is partly based on the word “allure” and partly on the character Princess Ariel from the “Thundarr the Barbarian” cartoon show, who called herself a sorceress.

Now, I should find a story for her. She certainly seems to want one. I have the start of one already, but it still needs filling out. There’s also a world here that I would like to explore. I’ve already started fleshing out bits about her and the world in my head and in the next pages here.
