Description: Solidly built, with a rough, unremarkable face and watery blue eyes. His dark brown hair is starting to turn prematurely grey: he keeps it cut short in a military-style cut.
Background: Perry is the third generation of police officers in his family: his grandfather was a Pinkerton detective for twenty years and his father was a sheriff in a downstate Illinois county for most of his life. Perry set his sights on joining the FBI, but he placed fourth (with three accepted) in the placement examination, and instead settled for the Illinois State Police. He has served on the force for eleven years, reaching the rank of Sergeant; he also has a BS degree in Criminology from the University of Illinois. He is currently assigned to the Interstate highway traffic accident investigation division in Chicago.
Personality: His slightly taciturn personality has not won him many friends in the force: he has been called a “down-state Jack Webb” behind his back. As a result he gets most of the dirty cases or dull assignments but has managed to attain a certain level of respect among his peers and superiors through his dogged determination and self-sacrificing attitude. He still hopes to get promoted or make a name for himself by solving a major case. Perry is more than a little cynical about his fellow man, after so many years on the force, yet feels it is his duty to protect them.
