My Self

I Do Stuff

Conventions

Stuff like working (volunteering) at conventions and similar events.

  • For several years, I was the Assistant Art Show Director at WindyCon, a regional SF convention in Chicago. I got the job because a friend, whom I got into SF fandom, was the Art Show Director, and I would help her out. The convention ultimately decided to formalize the position, albeit without telling me about it ahead of time.
  • I also work a similar position at MediaWest*Con in Lansing, Michigan, where I oversee and coördinate the backstage operatons for the Art Auction.
  • I act as a local promoter and photographer for IkasuCon, an animé convention in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This includes appearing and cooperating with other events to help promote the convention.
  • I participate on panels and workshops at conventions on a variety of subjects.

Volunteering

I learned the value of volunteering from my parents, who were both every volunteer position within their church other than the pastor, and who also helped with other activities and functions. I volunteer working for the Public Access station associated with the Allen County Public Library and with the annual Fort Wayne Cherry Blossom Festival and have volunteered with the Come2Go Ministries Open Mic Night as camera operator.
