My Self

I Write

I write because I create. (Or is it the other way around?) As the third brother with two brothers a decade older than I was and more, I was in many ways a single child. By necessity, I learned most everything that I didn’t learn from school by reading on my own. I was (and still am) precocious and curious about everything. I read a lot and possessed an active imagination. Therefore, it was only natural that I would eventually start putting that imagination to work and capturing what was playing out in my head.

I Write Professionally

That means I got paid for what I wrote. That hasn’t happened as much as I would like, primarily my own fault for not pursuing that more energetically, but it was enough for me to qualify as a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.

I Play Roleplaying Games

One of the best ways I write is by starting to play it out in a roleplaying game, from either side of the Game Master’s screen, or even just in my imagination. Several of my stories are based on what I originally thought was a game session, or what would happen to one of my characters under certain circumstances. But I also play very well, to the point I’ve been complimented many times on both the games I ran and the characters I played.
